Wray energy efficient home Wray Wray energy efficient home

Sited facing an Eastern Colorado wind turbine powering the local school to the south across a gentle ridge, this low energy home was designed for a couple who had previously lived in the city.  A fixed electrical cost from the local coop suggested an electrical heating system via a small geothermal heat pump for this superinsulated home with high performance triple pane high solar heat gain glass, concrete floors with radiant heat and a heat recovery ventilation system utilizing the cooling system ductwork.  A liquid applied air barrier provides superior air tightness.  An outdoor shower takes advantage of the remote location.
